Things to do in Peachland BC

Hiking , Walking  and Off Roading

Hardy Falls is on Deep Creek at the south end of Peachland, just past the Peachland Lakeshore Inn and beside Antler Beach Trailer Park. The walk to the falls will take from 5 - 30 minutes, depending on how much time you spend admiring the gorgeous scenery. The walkway crosses Deep Creek several times on the way to the falls. It is not uncommon to see fish in the creek along the walk and there are benches to stop, take a break, enjoy the scenery and chat with others along the way. A picnic area and washroom facilities are available for public use, and the walkway is wheelchair access.   Come back and visit when the kokanee are running - you won't be disappointed!
Stroll beautiful Beach Avenue - Experience the ambiance of a lakeside resort without the resort! Beach Avenue is the relaxed getaway you have been searching for. Casual outdoor eateries, fine dining, delightful shopping - all lakeside!  experience unique shops, a variety of quality dining options and Peachland's lighthearted, summertime lakeside atmosphere; don't miss the "Gateway!"
There are miles of off road driving available above Peachland which offers beautiful views of Okanangan Lake.  Just ask Hugh at the Duck & Pug
.

Land Sports

Peachland has tennis courts, baseball diamonds, and paved areas for rollerblading, skating, and jogging! In fact all of Beach is flat and paved and you’ll see people out walking and jogging (and maybe a few rollerbladers) from early in the morning until late evening.

Golf

Climb Pincushion Mountain - Ponderosa Golf and Country Club located at the base of Pincushion Mountain, the Ponderosa Golf and Country Club has a great view of Lake Okanagan. Be sure to visit the Ponderosa grill for a bite to eat after the game, it is located on the second floor of the club and boasts a great view form inside and out on the patio. Don't forget to bring your camera when you visit this course. Public, 18 holes, Par 72
Of course golf is not limited to just Peachalnd.  There are wonderful courses throughout the valley to enjoy and test your skills.

Check out Parrot Island

Parrot Island is a unique sanctuary for abandoned and abused exotic birds. Run by Ray Parkes and his wife Valerie, visitors are invited to come and share in their passion for these beautiful animals.

Swimming

A visit to the Okanagan would not be complete  without places for a good swim.  You can enjoy Swim Bay on Beach Avenue in Peachland with it’s wharf, diving board and rope swings.  There’s a sandy beach and grassy sitting area here along with a great concession serving burgers, hot dogs, drinks and more.   Swim Bay also has a lifeguard supervision.
If you’d like just a quiet place then go a little further along Beach Ave. and  you will find over a kilometer of pebble beach where you can sink your deck chair right into the water and cool off with a good book.

Go Boating , Jet Skiing, Water Sking

Peachland Water Sports is located right next door to the Duck & Pug at the Pentowna Marina.  They have boat  and jet ski rentals as well as accessories.

Go Fishing

Fishing!  Though known more for boating, water skiing, and water sports, Okanagan Lake contains rainbow trout and kokanee salmon.  Just imagine cooking one up on the BBQ!

Go to Rattlesnake Island

Directly across the lake from Peachland, this is the largest island in Okanagan Lake. A narrow channel separates the island from the mainland, and many boaters delight in exploring this channel where the water is a deep royal blue and a feeling of mystery exists. Close to the island in one of the underwater caves is said to lie the lair of the Okanagan's legendary monster Ogopogo.

Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park

Above the lakeshore are over 10,000 hectares of rugged landscape with mountain lakes, grasslands and spruce-fir forests accessible only on foot, horseback or bicycle. Trails and rustic campsites are the only facilities in this area of the wilderness. A wonderful setting for hikers- a climb to the top of Okanagan Mountain will lead you to beautiful scenic lake views to the west and the Monashee Mountains to the east.  A boater's paradise, this wilderness park dominates the east side of Okanagan Lake between Kelowna and Penticton. Six marine campgrounds and secluded bays and sheltered sandy beaches tucked into the 33 km of undeveloped shoreline make water exploring a true adventure. Mooring buoys available; horse-loading ramps available in parking lots.

Enjoy a Wine Tour

Peachland is home to Greata Ranch Vineyards, Deep Creek Wine Estate and Hainle Vineyards - each unique experiences for the wine taster.   Hainle Vinyards is an award-winning organic winery, and the birthplace of Icewine in North America!  The wine shop is available daily for tasting and shopping.

Farmer's and Craft  Market

Every Sunday in the summer there is a farmer/craft market held at waterfront park in downtown Peachland, right next Door to the Duck & Pug.  Enjoy interesting foods, flowers,  vegetables and crafts.

Restaurants and Shopping

These are all available in down town Peachland.  The Blind Angler Grill is right at the end of the Duck & Pug driveway at the Pentowna Marina,  and along with a great menu it offers an outdoor patio overlooking the Marina.   The Rockytop coffee shop is just a block away, and they open early and offer some breakfast goodies for early risers.   A little further along you will find a fish and chip shop, Greek restaurant and Pizza shop, which offer take out as well as eat in service.  The Gasthaus restaurant offers fine dining beside their popular indoor and outdoor pub that includes a fabulous view over the lake.  Along with a great menu their décor is also a special treat.   Everywhere you look there are antiques from all over Europe, from huge candelabra right down to miniature doll houses.
The Gateway is a small shopping mall at the corner of Beach Ave and 13thAve.  It has several interesting shops offering gifts, jewelry and books as well as the Bliss Bakery which provides fresh breads and pasteries along with great coffee or tea.
